Polling District and Polling Places Review
Message from the Electoral and Registration Services Manager, Wrexham County Borough Council
I attach a letter which advises that a Polling District and Polling Places Review commenced in Wrexham on Monday 18 August 2014.
The Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013 introduced a change to the timing of compulsory reviews of UK Parliamentary polling districts and polling places. The next compulsory review must be completed by 31 January 2015. Therefore, I am commencing a review and inviting representations and comments from interested persons. The formal consultation period began on Monday 18 August 2014.
Any elector in the Wrexham or Clwyd South Constituencies may make comment on their current polling facilities, or may comment on the Returning Officer’s representations, which will be posted online in due course. I am interested in hearing from persons or groups with expertise in relation to access to premises or facilities for persons who have different forms of disability. The Council’s Diversity Manager will also be consulted.
Anyone who wishes to comment on the current polling scheme, can alternatively complete a form on-line, by using the following links to the consultation:
- Letter to consultees
- Review of Polling Districts and Places
- PD analysis with electorate July 2014
Comments can also be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, or alternatively can be posted / delivered to the Electoral Services Section, The Guildhall, Wrexham, using the attached questionnaire.
